UA Vitae provides a wide range of benefits to faculty, staff and departments by creating a central repository for information on faculty contributions. This repository saves faculty time by making information on their achievements available for program reviews, accreditation reports, and other purposes. Faculty can use this information to generate Biosketches and create digital curriculum vitae with imbedded links in a range of formats.
While UA Vitae takes time to learn, it also saves time by drawing information from available databases and providing a portal to load publication information such as PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and specialized publication databases. The system allows for paperless reviews that save staff time and departmental expense.
UA Vitae will be used for promotion, tenure, and continuing status reviews once the system is fully implemented, and efforts are underway to create a University directory drawn from the information that faculty have designated for public access. This designated information will also be used to support the 100% Student Engagement initiative, and thereby make it easier for students and faculty to find collaborators.
